Updating
SaaS updates
Saas instances are kept up to date by OKIOK. However, the update process is coordinated with the client in order to have minimal impact on its operations. If some version-specific tasks could have impacts on the client, OKIOK discusses these impacts with the client beforehand and determines the settings and course of action prior to the update.
On-prem updates
Before planning an update, we recommend that you read this page to learn about the recommended procedure for updates. In addition, it is recommended to read all version-specific instructions between the currently installed version and the version targeted for upgrade.
It is also strongly recommended to perform the update in a non-production environment before running it in production. Among other things, this will allow you to prepare certain changes so that the production update is quicker and easier.
Recommended procedure
- Stop the solution
- Make a backup copy of the database in case of a rollback
- Run the installation program in update mode
- (If needed) Execute "pre-startup" tasks for updated versions (see Version-specific instructions)
- Start application
- (If needed) Execute "post-startup" tasks for updated versions
